25th May 2024 – Bat Walk and Talk in Ardclough
For Biodiversity Week 2024, Kildare Bat Group are going to have a Bat Walk and Talk, right to our doorstep, here in Ardclough, and we’re very excited!
Saturday 25th May 2024 @ 9:45pm
Register by emailing kildarebatgroup@gmail.com
On Saturday 25th May from 9:45pm to 11:15pm, Kildare Bat Group will lead us for a walk and talk showing us, and teaching us about the bats in Ardclough.
These bat walks are very popular and we’re delighted that Kildare Bat Group will be leading this one in Ardclough. Booking is essential to keep track of numbers, so sign up early. All are welcome, but we’d love to see as many of the Ardclough community grab this opportunity as possible.
Using bat detectors you will be able to listen in on the bats’ ultrasonic calls and watch these elusive creatures in flight. You will learn more about Irish bat species and their life-cycle as the walk progresses.
- Please wear appropriate footwear and warm outdoor clothing, wear a hi viz vest and bring a torch.
- Children under 18 are very welcome, but must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.
- Unfortunately dogs are not allowed at this event.
- Events are weather dependent. If there is heavy rain on the night, the walk will be cancelled, but an alternate night will be chosen and those who booked a place for the walk will be notified. Places are limited, so please book early.
Please Note: This event needs to be booked in advance. Please e-mail: kildarebatgroup@gmail.com to reserve your place. Full details will be provided to you, when you book your place.
